April is Cycling Prep Month at the Vail Athletic Club

Vail Athletic Club is increasing its indoor cycling programming for the month of April to inspire and prepare riders for the upcoming cycling season.  In addition to its regularly scheduled Cycle Conditioning classes, VAC welcomes master indoor cycling instructor Jennifer Sage to lead the following Monday series:

 

Lactate Threshold Field Test, Monday April 4, 5:30—7 pm

As a cyclist, determining your threshold provides you with personalized training zones that produce results (no more average charts)! You must have a heart rate monitor that records averages.

 

The Triple Bypass, Monday, April 11, 5:30—7 pm

A 90 minute rendition of our famous Colorado cycling event that features three long climbs, each with a different personality. You will learn form, mental focus and commitment to a purpose.

 

The Roller Coaster Ride, Monday, April 18, 5:30—6:45 pm

This exciting class will simulate a mountain bike ride, beginning with a long approach road and culminating with fast and fun twists, turns, ups, and downs.

 

HIIT: High Intensity Interval Training, Monday, April 25, 5:30—7 pm Not all intervals are created equal! This session begins with a discussion of three types of intervals, how to do them, and the benefits of each one, followed by an interval training ride. Heart rate monitor strongly suggested. This class is most effective if you have taken the Lactate Threshold Field Test session.

 

Each session is $20 for members or $35 for guests.  For those interested in joining the VAC as a way to get in shape for the upcoming outdoor cycling season, the April is Cycling Prep Month membership is available for $200.  The membership includes all four Monday cycling sessions with Jennifer Sage in addition to unrestricted use of the VAC and all of its regular classes for the month of April.
